I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my concerns regarding the recent adoption of the automatic late fee policy, which I believe was implemented without adequate owner review or input and with insufficient notice.

As a homeowner within the community, I value open and transparent communication between the board and its members. However, the automatic late fee policy has been introduced without providing homeowners like myself the opportunity to provide feedback or voice our concerns in a meeting attended by all board members.

It is my belief that policies affecting all owners should be discussed openly, allowing for input and suggestions from those most affected. Furthermore, the inadequate methods and short notice given regarding the implementation of this policy was not sufficient for homeowners to adjust their financial planning or make the necessary arrangements to comply with the new guidelines.

A significant change like this should ideally be communicated no less than one full month in advance using direct print letters delivered to our door or mailed to our primary address. This ensures owners have ample time to adjust their payment schedules and avoid unnecessary penalties.

I respectfully request that the board rescind the automatic late fee policy and consider revisiting the decision after the upcoming board election. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this matter further at an upcoming community board meeting, or via a separate meeting dedicated to addressing this issue.

It is my hope that through open communication and collaboration, we can find a solution that satisfies both the board's need for timely dues payment and the homeowner's need for fairness and inclusion in the policy-making process. Thank you for considering my concerns.
